About the edit
A Chanderi dress begins with the cloth, not the cut. Chanderi is handwoven in the town of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh with a silk warp that gives strength and sheen, and a cotton weft that lets the fabric breathe. Fine zari, where it is used, decides how much light the surface holds. That balance is why a Chanderi dress can feel composed at the bodice and still move like air at the hem.
Our Chanderi dresses are cut in two families of cloth: silk-linen Chanderi for warm days and daytime ceremonies, and silk zari tissue Chanderi for festive evenings, sangeet nights and weddings. Every piece is made in a limited run, many of them made to order, so the dress is cut for you rather than pulled from surplus stock.
Unsure which weave suits your occasion? Read our guide to Chanderi fabric, see Chanderi vs linen for summer weddings, or compare Chanderi and Maheshwari.
